Any vehicle with a 9-Pin Deutsche diagnostic connector. He only multi-plex system on that bus is the same J1939 (green & yellow) backbone connecting the Engine, Transmission, Dash Gauges (J1939 for EPA '10 rest are J1708) & Parker Fan that has been on every commercial truck since October, 2002. The dash cluster must have a separate flasher for the indicator lights and click, which I think is a horrible design - if there's a problem (as there is here) the driver won't know unless he/she notices in the mirrors. Of course it's the same model the parts room is stocked with, although I've never seen them randomly get stuck, only burn out after years of service. It's the maroon-colored one that we have on every other Thomas in the region. I discovered that it is in fact the flasher getting stuck. So no way to upgrade to an Acc position? What about replacing the ignition with a non-anti-restart, at least that way we won't upset the CCM when the idle shutdown timer kills it? I can look at a wiring diagram or trace circuits on any traditional system, but once they moved away from battery-fuse-switch-wire-light-ground with occasional 5-prong relays they lost me. I'll snap a pic tomorrow, but I assumed this was part of a multiplex system. ![]() Maybe I'm not using the correct terminology, but there's a small black module in the chassis electrical panel (right side of dash) with plugs labeled vehicle input and output or something like that. The TBB HDX doesn't have a multiplex wiring system.yet. There is a connector with the normal rear unit wire colors red,yellow,green,black,ect. Lastly a brake light wire can be found where the bundle of wires exits through the compartment just under the drivers window and heads to the rear of the bus. Thirdly the flashers supplied with the unit are junk put a good one in now to avoid the rush. Second if they ever got around to multiplexing the HDX it was in the last year, We are having so much fun with the electrical system on a C-2's that we need some kind of non-multiplexed unit to use as a sub bus. I'm sure I'll have more questions in the future. Is this a common issue with a known solution? If I open the dash access panel and wiggle the flasher around, they start working again. The dash cluster indicators flash and click normally, giving the illusion that the lights are working properly, but the outside lights stay on. ![]() On occasion, the turn signals will burn steady. Is there an easy way to tap into the brake light circuit?ģ. It's currently not hooked up, I'm not sure if the installers didn't have time or couldn't figure out how. The First Student Child Check-Mate system is supposed to have a brake light input, which keeps the alarm from going off after restarting without resetting. Is it a simple case of moving a wire to another terminal? Pollack ignition, if it matters.Ģ. ![]() All of the accessory circuits only work with the key in the "On" position. ![]() The "Accessory" position on the ignition doesn't work. I'm hoping someone here is familiar with these multiplex systems, it would be a huge help if I could find the answers for them.ġ. The buses were bought factory-direct, and the local dealer isn't being very helpful. I've asked one of our techs, but he doesn't know much about them yet. Overall, I love it, but there are a couple of electrical quirks I'm wondering about. Our First Student location just got 2 11 HDXs, one of which is assigned to my route.
